I’ve had some new cute greeting cards made from the images of my Halloween makes… They’re A6 size on lovely silk coated 350gsm paper, and are blank inside – so you can use them for any occasion, write your own messages (probably a good idea if you send Claude’s abusive one!), or just to send long distance love and hugs and words of encouragement during these weird times! They are available in my etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/samscuriouscreatures
I am so excited to be exhibiting two pieces in the Cat Lore and other Superstitions exhibition at the fabulous Inverarity gallery. The first one is a framed graphite drawing, and the second one is a 3d sculpt of the drawing on a wooden plaque, which has a hook on the back to hang it from a wall.
I am so excited to have my Vasilisa piece in the DOLLMAKERS VII : Folktales exhibition @cactusgallery. Thank you so much to the wonderful collector who adopted her, to the fabulous gallery for having her and lovely @animaexmanus for inviting me to exhibit alongside her beautiful dolls with my fellow art doll maker friends!
I am so excited to be exhibiting in the end of year Bad Apple exhibition ‘A is for Apple’ at the AMAZING Inverarity Gallery this Novemberβ¦.I was given the letter Rππ»π€ and decided to make my La Morte drawing come to life (with an art doll and horse) – because R is for Reaper, of course!
R is for Reaper⦠Ooak art doll. She is a mix of air dry and polymer clay over a wire frame, with a needle felt over wire torso. Her outfit is a mix of new and recycled fabrics, with crochet chainmail and armour created from a mix of jewelry findings.
Her crown is metal decorated with a polymer clay skull, and has a black and gold veil attached to the back.
Her unicorn horse is also a mix of air dry and polymer clay over a wire frame, with a clay saddle decorated with metal jewelry findings.
Her scythe is a mix of wood, clay , fabric and resin. The base is wooden, and decorated with air dry and polymer clay skulls and flowers. To the top of her scythe she’s approximately 60cm tall.
My two pieces for the exhibition ‘Superstition’ @penumbragallery π€π¦π€ ‘Miss Clara Voyant and her all seeing doll’ and a framed A3 graphite drawing of ‘The Other’ π¦π€π¦
My latest art doll is now exhibiting and available to buy at the fabulous Inverarity Gallery, in ‘nine lives- the return of the cat’!

The little witch is made from clay over a wireΒ and fabric frame, and is handpainted. She is wearing little faux leather boots and stripey stockings under vintage cotton bloomers. Her grey dress has embroidered and lace details. Her hat is made from cotton, trimmed with lace and has a hand made little crow skull attached to it. She wears a tiny planchette with an all-seeing eye around her neck and is holding another planchetteΒ in her hand, and inΒ the centre of her forehead is a light catching shiny silver star. Her two ‘familiars’ are needle felted over wire frames and are both wearing little bells on ribbons and bows around their necks. The black and grey cat has a half moon on his forehead. They are seated in a glass dome, on a wooden base- handpainted Ouija board. The dome can be removed and the doll can be taken off the base, but she is fixed in a kneeling position. Beware , one of the cats is a bit grumpy!
π€ππ€A little WIP peek at a witchy girl and her two kitties I have been busy working away on for a fabulous cat inspired exhibition= ‘Nine Lives’, which begins next month at the Inverarity Gallery π€ππ€
My first make of the year was a little clay and needle felt faux trophy head…Armel. Armel is now sold, but I am busy working on more clay and needle felt creatures… including a little creepy-cute bat…
