I am so excited to be exhibiting in the end of year Bad Apple exhibition ‘A is for Apple’ at the AMAZING Inverarity Gallery this November….I was given the letter R🙌👻🖤 and decided to make my La Morte drawing come to life (with an art doll and horse) – because R is for Reaper, of course!
R is for Reaper… Ooak art doll. She is a mix of air dry and polymer clay over a wire frame, with a needle felt over wire torso. Her outfit is a mix of new and recycled fabrics, with crochet chainmail and armour created from a mix of jewelry findings.
Her crown is metal decorated with a polymer clay skull, and has a black and gold veil attached to the back.
Her unicorn horse is also a mix of air dry and polymer clay over a wire frame, with a clay saddle decorated with metal jewelry findings.
Her scythe is a mix of wood, clay , fabric and resin. The base is wooden, and decorated with air dry and polymer clay skulls and flowers. To the top of her scythe she’s approximately 60cm tall.
Both Little Red and Evangeline have packed their bags and are off on exciting adventures to new places … Little Red Riding Hood is joining Fran on her move into a new home, and Evangeline is travelling all the way to Chile!!!!! How exciting !
Only Alicia remains in my etsy shop … waiting to be rescued ….
Frida’s box measures 43cm/17 inch tall x 27 cm/ 10.5 inch wide and 24cm/ 9.5 inch deep. It is either free standing or can be hung on the wall.
and is signed on the back!
and Little Birdie…in her wire bird cage…
Birdie’s cage can either remain free standing or be hung from the hoop at the top… the cage is approx. 38 cm / 15 inches tall. Birdie can come out of the cage if you wish to free her! as she is only tied to her swing…
She is made from clay over a wire frame, as is the bird in her hand. Her cage and swing are made from wire, beads and ribbon. Her outfit is handsewn with handsewn beadwork and her feathery tail is made from fabric and beads. She is a one of a kind art doll and is not made for children due to small parts and wire!
Poor little Birdie, so forlorn, she forever gazes upwards longing to grow wings and fly…
I have been busy making the tiny weapons for the hunter art doll…
the arrows – drying the paint!
The bow (- wire, fabric= lace, leather, thread, beads, paint ) and arrows ( wood, clay, lace, thread, paint, text )
a close up of the writing on one of the arrows – each arrow has a different quote
the finished sword and dagger hilts… and the box of antique pen nibs I will use to make the blades. the finished swords.
a picture showing her wearing the sword and dagger
both the sword and dagger can be taken out of their holders. the finished bow, arrows and holder for the arrows
